Red Ribbon Week

DES RED RIBBON WEEK

October 16-20

Dear Parents,

Our DES Student Council is excited to announce the first Red Ribbon Week in a long time! If
you’re unfamiliar with Red Ribbon Week, it’s a week to raise awareness of drug abuse and help
our children not only pledge but desire to live a drug-free life. With a deeper understanding of
drugs, our children will be able to have the courage and ability to stand up and say “No!” if and
when the time arises.

Please keep an eye out for the numerous contests and engaging activities we will have for the
students throughout the week. Support your child(ren) in learning about how to be drug-free by
talking about peer pressure, drug abuse and addiction, and other drug-free topics at home
throughout the week and throughout the year.

Here is a quick schedule for the contests and due dates. Contests are completely optional and
will stay fun for the student's learning and growth! Please watch the Duchesne Parent
Facebook page for more information and reminders! Remember to keep the DES Dress Code in mind as you pick your outfits each day!
